School Houses

Respect, Responsibility, Resilience

Each student when they arrive at KTHS is assigned to one of our two school houses: Loddon and Murray House.

In 2021 Kerang Technical High School transitioned to a two-house structure and our House names were chosen by our School Council after consultation with students and parents.

Each year Senior students nominate to be House Captains for their respective houses. Two Captains and Two Vice Captains are appointed for each house. Students are presented with house badges at our annual Speech Night. House Captains and Vice Captains involve themselves in promoting House culture and encouraging participation across our sporting calendar.

School houses form the cornerstone of our school Home Group structure and our Sports Carnival days.

Home Group

Each morning our students attend Home Group before classes begin. Each year level is split into two home groups Loddon & Murray i.e. 8 Murray and 8 Loddon.

Each Home Group is assigned a teaching and education support staff member to support them throughout the year.
Home Groups are an opportunity to check in and share information, assist students in navigating the school day, practise and promote School Wide Positive Behaviour and foster House pride.

House Sports Carnival

Each year Loddon and Murray House compete for the House Cup. Across the year our students compete in our own Swimming Carnival, Cross Country and Athletics Carnival. All students who participate in these events earn points towards their House tally. A winner is announced at the conclusion of each event and the House that achieves the highest score across the three carnivals is awarded the House Cup at our annual Speech Night celebration.
