School Camps

Respect, Resilience, Responsibility
Year 7 Camp Kookaburra

At the beginning of the year, Year 7 students embark on a 3-day camp to Camp Kookaburra. The aim of the camp is to help students who come into KTHS from a wide range of primary schools to get to know each other and their teachers, and to build those important socialisation skills of confidence and self-esteem so that their secondary school years get off to a good start.

The students will share cabin accommodation in groups, engage in a variety of fun activities, share responsibility for chores such as table preparations for meals, and have lots of fun together. The three days are filled with fun and challenging activities including raft building, canoeing, low ropes course, initiatives course, flying fox, indoor climbing and abseiling.

Year 9/10 Biannual Snow Camp & Urban Camp

In Years 9 & 10 students have the opportunity to attend either Mt Hotham Ski Camp or a Melbourne Urban Experience Camp.

Ski Camp

Year 10 students will travel to Mt Buller for four nights and enjoy 4 days of skiing or snowboarding. This camp has been hugely popular for many years at Kerang Technical High School. This Mt Buller trip is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn to ski/snowboard and perhaps even experience snow for the first time.

The trip includes 4 x 90 minute group lessons for students, lift passes, ski or snowboard hire (incl. helmets & wrist guards) breakfast, lunch and dinner and travel insurance. Additional costs if you need to hire jackets and pants (if unable to borrow).

Urban Camp

Year 9 & 10 students will spend 3 days and 2 nights in the city of Melbourne learning to navigate their way around the city while immersing themselves in some unique Melbourne experiences.

Students travel by train to Melbourne and will challenge themselves to find their way to various sights and activities while supported by school staff. Students visit Melbourne Zoo, ARTVO, ACMI, Village Cinemas and Escape Room Melbourne.

This camp builds resilience, encourages teamwork and challenges students to step outside their comfort zone.
