Values

Respect, Resilience and Responsibility

We respect ourselves, our school and each other, show kindness to one another and understand that our attitudes and behaviours have an impact on the people around us.

We model and demonstrate resilience, through a commitment to taking on challenges, accepting feedback, learning from our mistakes and not giving up.

We demonstrate responsibility by following our school expectations, being ready to learn and trying our best.

At Kerang Technical High School, we have adopted the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Framework (SWPBS). SWPBS is an internationally recognised approach with an extensive evidence base that is shown to improve behavioural, wellbeing, and academic outcomes for children and young people.

As a school community we have chosen the values of Respect, Resilience & Responsibility to guide our school.

RESPECT

We respect ourselves, our school and each other, show kindness to one another and understand that our attitudes and behaviours have an impact on the people around us.

RESILIENCE

We model and demonstrate resilience, through a commitment to taking on challenges, accepting feedback, learning from our mistakes and not giving up.

RESPONSIBILITY

We demonstrate responsibility by following our school expectations, being ready to learn and trying our best.

Building upon these school values as a school community we have developed a common set of beliefs and understandings that have developed into our School Wide Behaviour Matrix. This behaviour matrix outlines the expected behaviours of all staff, students and members of our school community at all times, at the school lockers and in the school ground.

School Wide Positive Behaviour involves an acknowledgement process where students are recognised when displaying behaviours that demonstrate our school values. Students receive Tech Tokens which can be exchanged for rewards in our SWPB Shop twice per term.

At our annual school Speech Night two students from Years 7, 8 & 9 are chosen by the entire school staff as those students who best live our school values.
